Meet the new Blues Brothers. Today, Ben Harper and critically acclaimed blues musician Charlie Musselwhite debut a live video of their first single “I Don’t Believe A Word You Say,” exclusively on TIME.com. It’s a fiery preview of their first collaboration album Get Up! (Stax Records/Concord Music Group), due out Jan. 29. Musselwhite’s harmonica echoes and adds weight to Harper’s lyrics, which are impassioned calls for more honesty.

The two say they have wanted to do an album together ever since they recorded with legendary blues guitarist John Lee Hooker in 1997. They have put on about a dozen concerts and have worked together on both Musselwhite’s 2004 Grammy-nominated album Sanctuary — recording Harper’s “Homeless Child”  — and on a limited edition bonus disc of Harper’s 2006 Both Sides of the Gun.

Harper won two Grammys in 2004 for his song ”11th Commandment” (Best Pop Instrumental Performance) and his album There Will Be A Light (Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album). Musselwhite, a Mississippi native and harmonica whiz, was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2010 and has shared a stage with stars like Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters and Eddie Vedder.

This jam session is part of the documentary on Get Up! directed by Danny Clinch, a photographer and director who has made videos for stars like Bruce Springsteen, Tupac, Björk, and Dave Matthews.

Harper and Musselwhite will kick off their 2013 tour with a CD release show at NYC’s Irving Plaza on Jan. 29.
